Research & Writing

I have recently completed the graduate program in Ethnomusicology at the University of Pittsburgh.

As an ethnomusicologist I have focused the majority of my research on African American music and Jazz. However I have also studied music of the African Diaspora, West African Popular and Traditional music, and North Indian Classical music

Here is a link to my dissertation: "West African Music in the Music of Art Blakey, Yusef Lateef, and Randy Weston"  There are lots of bookmarks inserted to make it easy to navigate so make sure you open them up.

Below are some of my Articles and Essays. Feel free to read them, and send me comments via email on my contact page.
